Mrs M - I really didn't feel the need for it but I have got two sons and a daughter. One son lives about 15 miles from here and another son who lives in London and Devon and a daughter who lives in Kent and they're all very thoughtful about me. They worry about me and they thought I should have some means of instant help.
I call it a panic button, I would always use it if I had to, if I fell - I could easily fall, I'm very tottery. I have a lot of grandchildren and great-grandchildren but they're not always at hand and they just wanted me to have it in case anything happened to me. Safe nights is what they thought more or less, if anything happened, so that I had someone to contact. It seems to be very simple, I'm glad to say I haven't had to try it out.
Daughter - I'm delighted that mum feels a lot more confident about living on her own. I try to visit as much as possible but you can't be there all the time. There's someone at the response centre 24 hours a day and that's what makes it perfect for anyone worried about needing help quickly.
The service uses your existing telephone line to enable you to simply call for help at the touch of a button 24 hours a day.
